The town is well known for the Carnival of Verín , declared a festival of national tourist interest, deeply rooted in the local culture as well as the Cigarrón , a character who whips neighbours and tourists, dressed in a carved wooden mask. The Parador has simple rooms in Castilian wood and wooden floors.
